the high st./san leandro st. intersection has got to be my least favorite intersection. between the crappy pavement, left turn turds (people who can't do it right), speeders, train track backup, etc. makes my want to avoid it whenever i can.
other avoidant-behavior creating zones:
- high and international
- most of international blvd, especially weekends

Re: my least favorite intersection
Fri, March 5, 2004 - 11:22 AMi'll avoid a left there when exiting 880 N by continuing forward to make a right into the 42nd St viaduct, then a 270 degree loop onto High south then a right onto San Leandro.
i haven't found any good solution to getting on 880. the onramp southbound east of Fruitvale is perhaps the least annoying. -

Re: my least favorite intersection
Fri, March 5, 2004 - 12:48 PMyes, i usually go that way, but end up going left on san leandro
the entrance just off 40th to 880 works pretty well -

Re: my least favorite intersection
Fri, March 5, 2004 - 2:57 PMThat is an incredibly dangerous intersection, though not as bad since they put stoplights along san leandro st. We used to get a lot more drag racing on san leandro, and because of the bump where SL meets high st cars were always crashing into parkerd cars in front of our building. -

Re: my least favorite intersection
Fri, March 5, 2004 - 4:38 PMI didn't even know San Leandro St existed until Yahoo Maps identified it as the fastest way to travel east-west or get on 880. -

Re: my least favorite intersection
Fri, March 5, 2004 - 5:03 PMIve been living on it for the last 10 years. Well actually, in a wharehouse that is on the street, not actually on the street. Well, you know what I mean. I'm just glad they installed those traffic lights- their aren't nearly as many accidents now. -

Re: my least favorite intersection
Mon, March 7, 2005 - 10:29 PMthere was an accident there a month ago with 3 cars.
one green car ran the light hit a white car and a backed into
a brown car. the green car driver was handicapped and his
car was pretty immovable. he kept trying to drive away
and when i asked if he was ok he said he didnt have a license.
the brown car driver was ok, but his license was suspended.
he had a funeral sticker on his car. the white car lady was
fine and had her license, her car was for sale and shed already
bought a new one. i told her she was in pretty good shape then
as her car was totalled and shed just get insurance $.
the brown car driver ran away before the cops came. but
they went and got him and a priest came and picked him up. -
